Grind Heart’s 20-yard sand pit is PERFECT FOR YOGA. It feels like you are at the beach with the calming sound of the ocean and the sensation of sand under your feet(mat)!
Sand is an excellent surface area to build stability and to challenge your balance. It forces the muscles to work harder to stabilize to build standing strength and balance. It is wonderful for balancing poses. You will shake and wobble feeling every muscle!
The unstable sand surface requires constant adjustments in your body positioning to maintain balance. Sand forces your muscles to activate in subtle ways due to the minor shifts in the surface beneath you as the sand settles. Sand provides a soft surface that cushions the impact of your movement, so it is gentler on your joints.
